Project Overview
Oriel Bridal Glam is a Melbourne-based makeup artist brand led by Jutta Schmitz, a celebrity hair and makeup artist with nearly two decades of experience in film, TV, and bridal styling. Jutta approached Bourne Creative to refine her professional identity with a new brand direction, business cards, and a homepage website design that showcases her portfolio and personality in a cohesive, elegant way.
The project aimed to reposition Oriel as a high-end yet approachable makeup artist brand — balancing glamour, trust, and sophistication.
Objectives
-
Develop a refined brand identity that reflects Jutta’s professionalism, warmth, and luxury aesthetic.
-
Design a logo suite (primary and secondary) with timeless typography and modern femininity.
-
Create a visual brand system including color palette, typography, and collateral.
-
Design and build a homepage layout that introduces Oriel’s services, personality, and expertise clearly.
-
Produce print-ready business cards for client networking and wedding events.
Approach
Bourne Creative began by exploring visual directions that embodied modern bridal luxury — sophisticated without being overly ornate. The creative direction leaned toward editorial elegance, using soft rose tones balanced with strong typographic structure.
-
Logo Design: The wordmark features a custom serif typeface (Playfair Display) paired with circular type treatment for “Bridal Glam” to create a sense of movement and femininity.
-
Color System: A palette of soft blush (#E2B7B1) and rose pink (#BF608B) grounded with black and dark grey conveys timeless beauty and confidence.
-
Typography: Playfair Display (primary) and Lato (secondary) provide contrast between elegant display headings and legible, modern body copy.
-
Website Design: A one-page homepage design communicates expertise, personality, and trust — combining large portrait imagery, testimonials, and service highlights.
-
Business Cards: Minimalist cards featuring the Oriel logo, color accents, and contact details maintain brand consistency across touchpoints.
